The Cornish Pirates have boosted their roster with five new dual-registered players from Exeter Chiefs.
The promising talents include Hallam Chapman, Iwan Jenkins, Charlie McCaig, Sol Moody, and Chester Ribbons.
Devon-born lock forward Hallam Chapman, who can also play in the back row, joined the Chiefs in October 2023 following the shutting down of his then-club, Jersey Reds.
At 6'4" and weighing 18st 13lbs, the 26-year-old made one appearance for the Cornish Pirates last season when briefly on loan.
Gifted fly-half Iwan Jenkins of Cardiff has represented Wales U20s and made 11 appearances for the Cornish Pirates last season when dual registered with the Chiefs.
The 21-year-old measures 5’ 8" tall and weighs 12st 9lbs, and is a former student of Y Pant School and Exeter College.
Charlie McCaig, a centre player from Honiton, took up rugby at the tender age of six at Sidmouth RFC.
Educated at Perrott Hill and then Sherborne School, in 2022 the 21-year-old was part of the highly successful University of Exeter First XV, helping them to the BUCS title with victory over Durham.
19-year-old Sol Moody of Bury St. Edmunds joined the Chiefs in the 2023/24 season and his industrious efforts earned the hooker a spot in the England under 19s team.
Standing at 6'1" and weighing 15st 10lbs, Mr Moody was educated at Finborough School and previously gained age-grade representation for Northampton Saints, featuring for them in an under 18 Premiership Cup Final.
Chester Ribbons, also a centre player, can trace his rugby journey back to Wetherby RUFC, where he worked his way up through various age grades.
The 6'2" 15st 21-year-old captained the Exeter University side during his time there.
Cornish Pirates’ joint head coach Gavin Cattle said: "As always, our relationship with the Chiefs is strong, as is mirrored by the calibre of players once again named this year.
"With a balance of youth and experience there, which will provide a good blend for us in relation to the Championship, from our perspective it is business as usual as we look forward to pushing those boys on."
