The Bill Rowe Memorial Trophy attracted another good entry at Budock Vean Golf Club on Sunday.
The greens were in superb condition but the wind gusting to gale force at times in this generally sheltered spot, even bringing a tree down into the seventh fairway,  certainly caused problems with club selection.

Dylan Mason, having recently returned to golf, had no such problems, however, as he picked up his second trophy in three weeks with an admirable performance.

Having covered the front nine in 39 gross he repeated the dose on the back nine despite a double bogey 5 at the "flower bowl" last to card an untouchable net 64. Runner up was David Stevens who just pipped Stephen Crouch on the countback, both having played well for their respective net 68s.

The best gross of the day was by Tony Ramsden who returned a 76.

Following their rounds the players were treated to an excellent buffet kindly provided by W.C. Rowe Bakers and Confectioners, for whom Bill Rowe was the founder.

Budock Vean Golf Club are very grateful to their Managing Director Alan Pearce and his staff for keeping up the tradition.

This coming Sunday is another prestigious trophy: The George Benney Memorial "Claret Jug." A triple back nine rollover twos jackpot will be in place offering a lucrative day for somebody.
On Wednesday Ladies Captain Lesley Upperton staged her Captains Day.

The weather was perfect and a good day was had by all. The winner was Sue Parsons with 37 points. Runner up was Jenny Wake also with 37 points and third was Sue Rule with 34 points. Sue also won the longest drive at the 5th hole.

Maureen Salome won the Longest Drive at the 7th. Hole and Shirley Mildren won nearest the pin at the 18th.
