For their second home game in this season's Greene King IPA Championship, the Cornish Pirates will welcome Moseley to the Mennaye Field on Friday for another floodlit encounter (ko 7.45pm).

Losing to Leeds Carnegie two weeks ago at the 'Mennaye' was not the start sought in front of their supporters, especially after impressively beating Bristol in their double header. Victory at Ealing Trailfinders last week put things back on track so a third Greene King IPA Championship win of the season will be sought against 'Mose'.

Despite never having never lost a league game against them in Cornwall, the Pirates will be aware that Moseley are dangerous opponents. Coach Kevin Maggs  has retained a many from last year's squad, plus there's a number of talented new arrivals, and it's clear from their recent comeback at Plymouth Albion that the Midlanders have a side to respect. It'll be fresh in the memory that they were 34-6 down at the Brickfields at half-time, but before the final whistle they had amazingly recovered the deficit to level matters.

The Cornish Pirates team shows a number of changes from the one that started last week against Ealing. In the backs, wing Mike Pope and fly-half Angus Sinclair will make their first starts in the Championship, whilst there are adjustments also made in the pack. Tom Channon is named at hooker, with Aaron Carpenter dropping back to his more familiar position at No. 8,  Laurie McGlone moves from the middle of the back-row to partner Darren Barry in the second-row, and selected on the open-side flank is Joel Conlon.
