The Kelsall Steele Financial Services sponsored monthly medal attracted another large entry at Falmouth Golf Club on Saturday.

It was a calm winter’s day albeit with a very frosty start and thankfully all the greens were in play.
Michael Bartlett deservedly won with a fine net 65 despite a double bogey at 17 he finished with a par 5 at the last to win by one stroke from Neville Brown who carded birdies at 12, 13 and 16, but alas a bogey at 18 proved costly.

Third was Adam Fry with a net 67 who parred five of the last six holes to edge out Robert Edgeson, David Walsh, Andy Morris and Neil Bennetts all on countbacks.

The best gross of the day (74) was by Paul Collins. Eleven players shared the two’s jackpot.

On Sunday the course was busy yet again for the very well-supported mixed greensomes. The winners were Gordon Kelly and Jo Mundy with a fine haul of 42 stableford points. Runners up thanks to a better back nine were Ken Arch and Kath Kelly with 40 points just pipping Chris Beer and Kath Wells into third spot. Fourth were Bob Wooldridge and Barbara Roker with 39 points.

This Saturday is round four of the Winter League.
