SCHOOLCHILDREN from Lizard made played well at a regional tag rugby tournament held in Taunton, Somerset.
The team from Landewednack School took part in the South West Tag to Twickenham Rugby Final on Wednesday after finishing runners-up in the Cornish heat of the competition.
During their time in Taunton, the side won two games, drew one and lost four to leave them in 11th place out of 20 teams.
Headteacher Sue Wilson said the squad should feel very happy with their effort.
Mrs Wilson said: “The children made everyone at the school very proud and two of the matches they had lost were only by one try, so they did really well.
“I want to thank all of the parents who had gone to cheer on the children and especially to Ted Heaton and David Muirhead who coach and train the children every week.”
