ANOTHER six young players have been signed up by the Cornish Pirates under their Player Development Foundation scheme.
George Collenette, Marcus Garratt, Tyler Gendall, Todd Lowry, Jay Tyack and Locryn Williams are joining the Greene King IPA Championship side under the project which is looking to develop promising young players from Cornwall and the South West into future professional stars.
All are aged either 18 or 19 with props Gendall and Tyack and hooker Williams coming from Cornwall.
Back-rower Collenette is from Guernsey while Garratt, who can play either in the lock or back row positions, and back row forward Lowry are natives of Devon.
Director of rugby Ian Davies said: “These young lads are obviously highly talented and want to have a future in professional rugby.
“We are giving them a chance to experience a professional environment and I have no doubt they will add to the quality of the squad we have recruited for this season.”
Other players already signed through the scheme at Mennaye Field are Ben Trevaskis, from Penryn, and Alex Ducker, from Camborne.
