The sixth round of Falmouth Golf Club's men's winter league took place on Saturday in difficult conditions with only 58 members entering the competition.

The course is very wet at the moment after all the rain of the previous week and this, combined with the very strong winds, meant conditions were far from ideal.

There were only two twos recorded in the entire competition, by Mike Hodges and Paul Campbell. They won 10 balls each for their efforts.

Club captain, Paul Collins, and Nigel Molin clinched first place after count-back of the back nine hole from Richard Thompson and Mike Hodges, after both teams recorded 43 points each.

Bob Pine and Tim Edgerton scored 42 points and got third place after count-back of the back nine holes, pushing Arthur Clay and Rik Shaw into fourth place. Des Britton and Chris Beer were fifth with 41 points.

Results were: 1, Paul Collins and Nigel Molin, 43 points; 2, Richard Thompson and Mike Hodges, 43 points; 3, Bob Pine and Tim Edgerton, 42 points; 4, Arthur Clay and Rik Shaw, 42 points; 5, Des Britton and Chris Beer, 41 points.
