FALMOUTH COLTS 7pts SALTASH COLTS 14pts

SALTASH, unable to raise a side on Saturday, sent down a fairly formidable team on Sunday to surprise Falmouth at Tregenver.

The home side, showed signs of considerable improvement in spasms but never fail to frustrate. Like a slumbering giant, what will happen when it wakes up?

This was a game won but lost in space, the home side creating better chances at territorial gains but wasting away through bad decision making, and forward and dropped passes allowing (to the delight of their supporters) letting Saltash off the hook.

The first half was null and void with both sides cancelling out one another and making their coaches gyrate, scream and shout! The interval talk must have had an effect as to a point it worked as Falmouth opened the scoring in style with their only exciting running rugby, scrum half Ben Wilson opening the visiting defence to score under the posts. Seven points and the sky's the limit - or was it? Time after time chances were squandered and frustration ensued. The home supporters by this time had no hair left.

The inevitable happened and the grateful visitors' big No 7 Scott Gallaway galloped in to level ten minutes from time. With only two minutes left the Ashes rose from the dead to score from a quickly-taken penalty five metres out and catching Falmouth slumbering. This was a late Christmas present for the visitors and a lesson in life for Falmouth. Positive points were man of the match for Falmouth, Nick Horte, at No 7 and well worth keeping an eye on! Most improved Colts so far this season, Ben Warwicker, Harry Martin, Penfold, Luke Dirkin and Luke Allen.

Please giant, wake up and make your coach a happy chappy.
