DREAMS of Wembley were dashed in emphatic fashion for Porthleven as they were thrashed 8-1 by St Austell.
The South West Peninsula League Premier side looked on top from the word go against their West division rivals in he FA Vase Preliminary Round.
They led 3-1 at half time hanks to strikes from Martin Giles, Liam Eddy and Jared Sims, all of which came in the first half hour and had an element of poor defending on all of them.
Jordan Annear managed to grab a fine finish inbetween these goals, but after the half time break, St Austell continued to maul the Fishermen.
Eddy and Sims both scored seconds while Neil Slateford also picked up a brace to go alongside substitute Mike Body, who also got on the scoresheet.
The hosts dominated the entire match as Port struggled to conjure up any flowing passing moves at a hot Poltair Park.
St Austell will now go straight into the First Round proper of the competition.
