A TEARFUL Dennis Annear admitted his last home game in charge of Porthleven will leave a lump in his throat.
Saturday’s South West Peninsula League West tie against Liskeard Athletic is going to be the final time Annear sits in the dugout at Gala Parc before leaving the post at the end of the season.
Speaking to the Packet after their 5-1 defeat to local rivals Helston Athletic on Good Friday, the 44-year-old admitted it will tough to say goodbye.
When asked whether Saturday will be emotional, Annear said: “Yeah, it is.”
The Fishermen’s boss then paused as tears welled up in his eyes, before composing himself and carrying on with the interview.
“We wanted to win all our last six games and get 18 points,” he said.
“I gave the boys that goal, but I would have been happy with 15 or 12 points and we can still do that.”
