YOUNG footballers from Penryn College have been crown Cornish champions.
The Year 7 team made it to the final of the countywide competition and capped off their first year at the school by defeating Callington 2-0 to win the title.
They were not the only football team from their school who made the finals as the sides from Year 8 and 10 also progressed to the last stage of their respective competitions.
In a thrilling contest, the Year 8s were narrowly beaten 3-2 by Penrice while the older boys lost to a strong Liskeard team 4-1.
On top of these finals, the squads from Years 9 and 11 also made it to the semi finals of their competitions.
College staff and pupils are also celebrating four of their handball teams representing them at a regional tournament in Bideford.
Good results came out of the tournament with a runners-up and third place secured by two of the teams.
