BRODIE Kemp kept up his fine form to win for the second successive week at Falmouth Golf Club, writes Keith Rashleigh.

On Saturday the teenager deservedly won the Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals Medal in pleasant conditions as he scored birdies at the sixth, eighth and 12th holes on his way to a splendid net 62.

This round put him four ahead of Keith Rashleigh who finished second while Ashley Bennett's tidy score of 67 put him in third place out of the field of 94 players.

Kemp's exploits on the course were not finished there as he helped the club's junior side reach the Brian Gripe Trophy Final after defeating Mullion 3-2 at West Cornwall.

It was a tense semi final with Falmouth's team of Kemp, Callum Davis, Ben Browning, Kieran Ashley and Tom Matthews eventually progressing.

The result was not decided though until the final singles match between Matthews and Rhys Kerton reached the 20th green, with the Falmouth's player scoring the win to set up a final against West Cornwall at Point of Polzeath on August 17.

Another battle between the two sides, this time in the George Bolitho League, finished all square as they drew 3-3.

Browning was the only player not involved in this tie from the trophy team with Liam Ashley and Archie Fox coming in.

On Wednesday, club president Bob Wooldridge won the Veterans Cup with his score of 42 Stableford points, beating Alun Thomas on countback while Dennis Nicholls finished third on 40.
