In recent weeks the Cornish Pirates have confirmed the names of 20 players who

have signed contracts to be at the club next season.

Now, to this list, are added the names of Matt Bolwell and Tom Duncan, and not forgetting player/coach Alan Paver, to make the present total 23.

Matt, who started playing for Wadebridge Camels at the age of four, joined the Cornish Pirates in 2013. A back-rower, he had appreciated support given by his coaches at Truro College, and he also played for Exeter Chiefs Academy and for

Exeter Braves in the 'A ' league. Now celebrating his 21st birthday, Surrey-born Matt has already made 46 appearances for the Cornish Pirates.

Aged 25, Cornishman Tom first joined the Cornish Pirates in December, 2012.

He played No. 8 for Redruth at the time, and was a phenomenal try-scorer. Injuries cruelly disrupted chances to initially develop fully at Championship level, but back to full fitness Tom has this season impressively shown what he is capable of.

Commenting with reference to this latest player news, Director of Rugby Ian Davies

said: “Matt has been with us for a few years now and is developing into a very dynamic back-row forward.

“As for Tom, he has recovered well from his knee injuries, and as we have all witnessed is showing the try-scoring form that first alerted him to us.”
