The experienced Liam Chapple, who oversaw Camborne’s return to the National Leagues with promotion during the 2015/16 season, is back at the Recreation Ground.
A little over 12 months ago Chapple stepped back in to fill the Director of Rugby and coaching void for the remainder of last season and now takes the reins for a third time.
Former scrum half Chapple will be in charge for the next 18 months and his immediate priority will be to oversee a climb up the South West Premier table in the remaining nine games, beginning with a huge clash with fellow strugglers Weston Super Mare at home this weekend.
‘Town’ chairman Andy Gill advised members and supporters of the move on Sunday, following defeat at Bracknell the preceding day that saw the team drop into the relegation zone.
"The Chairman of Camborne RFC is pleased to announce, that with immediate effect, Mr Liam Chapple has been appointed to the position of Director of Senior Rugby.
"Liam’s appointment will enhance and strengthen the current coaching team by adding his wider coaching experience, player management skills and acknowledged administration skills. His appointment is confirmed until the end of the 2018-19 season."
Chapple will take training this week alongside coaches Damien Cook and Rhodri Mcatee and his charges will be looking for the support of a big home crowd on Saturday (2.30 KO).
