Penryn Saracens 26, Camborne II 22
Penryn Saracens overcame difficult conditions and a Camborne comeback to record a Duchy League double over 'Town'.
Penryn took the lead with Kirk Oldfield going into the corner for a try, which was converted in some style by Joseph Campbell for a 7-0 lead.
Camborne hit back soon after, but had less luck with their attempted conversion, with Borough's lead cut to 7-5. Ollie Bush came through to put Borough back in front, with Campbell adding another conversion to importantly increase the Penryn lead to nine points at half-time.
The second half saw Camborne come out firing and ran in two tries in quick succession, one of which was converted as they built a 17-14 lead. Crucially, back came Penryn, with Will Paine dotting down and Campbell maintaining his 100% record with conversions as Penryn regained the lead at 21-17. Yet, back came the visitors with their fourth try of the afternoon – but they were unable to convert again, which meant 'Town's' lead was a single point at 22-21. Back came Borough with Kirk Oldfield scoring his second and Penryn’s winning try in the corner. The conversion attempt missed, but in the end it mattered not as Penryn completed a 26-22 victory.
