Falmouth Falcons players, Owain Hughes and Nick Cullis, have both been accepted into the Wales national dodgeball team.

This news comes after the pair attended trials last month, in which more than 30 people attended.

Owain and Nick are members of Falmouth and Exeter Students’ Union’s (FXU) dodgeball team, which has competed to great success in recent months.

Ryan Borley, FXU dodgeball vice-president: "Owain and Nick both began playing dodgeball after joining the university club in their first year as students.

"Over the past two years I have watched them grow and develop into fantastic dodgeball players. Their passion for dodgeball and natural sporting talent has seen them become key players in the club’s first season competing in the South West University League. Everyone at the club is so proud of both of them and wishes them the best of luck with the Wales National Team, they truly deserve it."

Owain said: "It's a real privilege to be given the opportunity to represent my country doing something that I love – and it gives me a great excuse to play even more dodgeball."

Nick added: "It's always been a dream to play for Wales and it couldn't have been for a sport I enjoy playing more. This is a great opportunity which I feel honoured to have been chosen for."
