The sun was shining on the memorial ground at Penryn Rugby Club on Sunday as over 400 children took to the main pitch for the annual county rugby tag festival.

Sixty teams from 19 clubs across Cornwall enjoyed a fun day of rugby but the fun didn’t stop there!

There were bouncy castles, a merry-go-round and other games and competitions for the children to take part in.

The young rugby players had a pasty for lunch and the parents and coaches were spoilt for choice when it came to lunch: burgers and hotdogs were a popular choice and the Prima pasties were soon sold out.

This year saw a club first with a crepè stall providing a sweet treat for the crowd, with the thriving girls section helping out with the hot drinks.

The Tombola and cake stalls were overflowing with goodies and a fantastic day was had by all.

Penryn RFC would like to thank Hawkins Mitsubishi in Penryn, their sponsor for the day, for supporting youth rugby in Cornwall, and also Trelawny's Army for donating the match balls for the event.
