Falmouth Town can cap off a fantastic season with a trophy on Saturday as they face Tavistock in the Walter C Parson League Cup Final.

Elsewhere, it’s the big one in the Bill Beaumont County Championship as Cornwall take on Devon, while Falmouth’s cricketers host St Just in their third Cornwall Premier League match of the season.

Falmouth Town v Tavistock (Walter C Parson Cup Final)

Falmouth Town have their first chance to win a piece of major silverware for 15 years when they take on Tavistock in the Walter C Parson League Cup Final.

Town have beaten six teams – including local rivals Helston Athletic – to get to this point, but Tavistock are likely to be their sternest test yet.

Tavistock are one of only two teams to finish above Town in the league this season, after the Ambers secured a third-place finish after last weekend’s 5-1 win at home to Stoke Gabriel.

Saturday's showpiece takes place at Wadebridge's Bodieve Park (kick-off 2.30pm).

Last time out: Cullompton Rangers 5-2 Falmouth Town (May 9)

Cornwall v Devon (County Championship)

Cornwall and Devon renew their rivalry at the weekend when they meet in the second round of games in this year’s County Championships.

Cornwall failed to record victory in a pool stage match for the first time since the introduction of the format in 2012 when they drew with Surrey last weekend, while Devon got their campaign underway with a 26-38 defeat at home to Gloucestershire.

Only the pool winners advance to the grand final at Twickenham, so a win at Camborne RFC on Saturday is vital for both sides.

Last time out: Cornwall 15-15 Surrey (May 5)

Cricket (Saturday, 1pm)

Falmouth v St Just (ECB Cornwall Premier)

Falmouth will look to make a winning start to the season on home turf against St Just this weekend, after their initial Hine Downing Oval opener against Werrington was cancelled.

The visitors won last season’s edition of this fixture by three wickets after bowling Falmouth out for 117. In fact, the last time Falmouth won this fixture was back in 2012 when their 132-run haul was enough to win by 16 runs.

St Just beat Wadebridge by five wickets on the opening weekend and didn’t play last week, while Falmouth beat Grampound Road by 90 runs last weekend in their only match so far this season.

Last time out: Grampound Rd - 154 all out (38.1) lost to Falmouth – 244-7 (50) (May 5)
