Falmouth Golf Club staged the Successions Group Charity Day (previously run by T.M.S. for the last 13 years) on Friday.

Over £500 was raised for Cancer research on a very successful day. The winning quartet were David Bradley, Wayne Mitchell, Martin Green & Steve Burrows.

On Wednesday the Monthly Stableford was won by Andy J Anderson with 35 points. Runner up was Robbie Edgson with 34 points and third was Mark Butland with 33 points.

Saturday saw the Franke Sharp Cup and the Frank Harris Qualifier combined. The winner was Matt Morrison with a superb gross 74 net 67.

Runner up was Mike Casey who also played well for a net 67 and third was Roger Fairburn with a net 68.

  • At Budock Vean the Ron Cook Memorial Trophies dominated proceedings. In the Ladies version, Nina Hann ran out the winner with 34 Stableford points. Sue Parsons was runner-up on 32 pts.

In the Men’s event there were many tricky pin positions but David Gudzij navigated them well to win with a lowest gross score of 75 (net 65). In second spot was Keith Whitbread with net 68 just pipping new member Richard Hill on countback.

John Warden won Division One and the Monthly Medal on Sunday with 59 net.

  • Anna Harry won the Ladies’ Monthly Medal at Praa Sands on Saturday, with 88-21=67 on the last six holes from Phyllis Williams (96-29=67). Ann Seabrook was third (95-27=68) and Sue Harvey fourth (95-25=70) on the last nine holes from Carole Jones (89-19=70).

Phyllis Williams and Mike Hichens won the Kensa Peswarré Mixed Foursomes Medal competition on Monday evening. Linda Dunford and Phil Hales were second, with Anna Harry and Simon Phillips third.

Next Saturday the Ladies will play for the Jubilee Rose bowl and on Sunday morning the Men play for their Entertainments Trophy. On Monday there is the Late Spring Bank Holiday Stableford for all playing members.

On Wednesday (May 30), the Ladies play round three of their Star Cup in the morning, and the Ogres play in the afternoon. On Friday (June 1), there is Round One (Stableford) of the Pilcher Cup, open to all playing members.
