A Bowls and Social Club for Blind and Partially Sighted people in the Falmouth and Truro area has celebrated its 30th Anniversary.

The club marked the occasion with a Bowls Gala and Social Day for its members, with a pasty lunch and a celebration cake after the games.

The Charity was set up in 1988, and two of the original members still attend the club.

The games were a lot of fun and the eventual final was played by Steve Chapman and Roger Verran, also a committee member.

After a very close game, Roger Verran won the gala, and will be presented with a cup on the club's presentation day at the end of the season in July.

Also presented on that day will be a cup for the highest scorer for the year.

The club is always ready to welcome new members, and meet twice a month for bowls and social afternoons, and have a dedicated team that play other similar clubs in the area.

The club also enjoys meals out, with volunteer transport arranged for members door to door.
