Rosudgeon 202 (8pts) lost to Troon 206-7 (19pts) by three wickets

Rosudgeon’s recent run of form came to an end on Saturday when they suffered a three-wicket defeat at home to Troon.

Mark Waters’ 77 wasn’t enough for his side as Troon surpassed Rosudgeon’s 202 with just under five overs remaining.

Rosudgeon remain third in the County Division 1 table, with Troon just one point behind in fourth.

Troon won the toss and put Rosudgeon in to bat, with the hosts losing Matthew Ellis (14) early on after he was bowled by Daniel Walker.

However Matthew Skewes (17) and Aaron Paul set up a nice 47-run partnership before the former was lbw off Daniel Eva.

Paul followed after scoring 41 off 38 balls, with nine fours among them, while Billy Edwards added nine.

Waters came in and began his stint at the crease, eventually top-scoring with 77 off 90 balls, with six fours and three sixes.

James Williamson (3), Matthew Jacka (6), William Hood (3) and Max Walden (12) all fell during Waters’ run as Rosudgeon reached 202.

Troon lost opener Michael Harding (4) early in their reply, but Dan Jenkin (31) and Jamie Goldsworthy (40) turned it around to take the score to 103-4.

Grant Rowe’s (9) innings was short-lived but Gavin Tregenza hit 70 not out for Troon off 67 balls to send his side towards victory.
