Falmouth 186-9 (5pts) lost to Truro 189-3 (19pts) by seven wickets

Falmouth’s inconsistent Premier Division season continued on Saturday when they lost to Truro by seven wickets at the Hine Downing Oval.

Harry Roberts scored 59 as Falmouth reached 186, but an 83 by Truro captain Scott Harvey condemned the hosts to defeat with just under five overs to spare.

Falmouth drop to seventh in the table as a result.

Falmouth won the toss and chose to bat but fell into trouble when Grant Stone was dismissed for a duck.

Fellow opener Sean Hooper ran up 30 before he was caught by Harvey off Neil Ivamy, who claimed superb figures of 4-14.

The score now read 59-2, but that quickly became 59-4 as Scott Kellow and Stefan Churcher were both bowled by Ivamy for ducks.

Richard Kellow came in and added 36 to give his side a much-needed lift, but Jamie Stephens (3), Oliver Paull (14) and Louis Rudin (9) all departed.

Roberts eventually left having scored 59 runs as his side set Truro a target of 184 to win.

Truro’s reply didn’t get off to the best of starts with opener Faiz Fazal bowled by Scott Kellow having scored just 10 runs, his lowest return of the season.

But it didn’t matter as Harvey (83 no) and Adrian Noott (49) scored 131 runs between them as they chased down Falmouth’s total.

Noott was caught and bowled by Richard Kellow, who also bowled Conor Miles (1), but Snell (18 no) and Harvey got Truro over the line.
