As the new campaign approaches, Penryn announce two more signings ahead of the start of pre-season, writes Trevor Howells.

Penryn have secured the services of versatile forward Dave Bramwell from St Ives. Dave can play hooker and back row and will be another good addition to the squad for the coming season.

Head coach Ian Morgan said: "I am pleased Brammers has decided to give it a crack, he is a good bloke and I have coached him before. He always gives 100% and works really hard on his game and that's the sort of attitude we are about down here and he will settle quite quickly I think."

Penryn have also secured the services of prop forward Joe Burton. Joe is predominantly a tight head but can play both sides of the scrum. He has been busy representing the Navy and the Combined Services U23's this season and will be pushing to try and make the senior set up next season.

Morgan said: "Joe is a big lump and gets around the park well. His versatility at scrum time will be a huge bonus for us this coming season. He is a good lad too and will fit in very well with the lads down here.

"I am hoping to get the best out of Joe this coming season and hopefully he can push through and get himself into the Navy senior squad towards the tail end of the season, but ultimately we want the best from him here first. I know he is looking forward to it, as am I, so I am really keen to see all these lads go during pre season.

"We are looking to have good depth within the squad this season and that's hopefully what will help us become the best team in the league. The players we have added during the off season so far were all needed to create that depth.

"We have one or two more forwards to add yet and then I will be happy with squad and we can finalise a few things on the playing front.

"The Borough would like to welcome both Joe and Dave on board for the coming season. "
