The Cornwall Cricket League has announced the structure for the 2019 season, writes Michael Weeks.
Following the withdrawals of Helston and Hayle from the Premier League earlier this season, clubs in the top divisions have been surveyed as to the best way forward.
The statement from League Chairman Andrew Kent reads: “During the recent consultation process with clubs, thoughtful ideas and much welcomed comments were received. These need to be presented and discussed more widely with clubs.
"This should allow the best chance of any changes to the formats and structure of Cornish League cricket to be managed in the best interest and with minimal disruption to of all its member clubs.”
The Premier Division for 2019 will be planned based on 10 teams, with no top performing County 1 club having applied for promotion.
County Division 1 will gain a relegated team from the Premier Division and, with it being highly likely that one from each Division 2 West and 2 East will be promoted, the bottom three teams of County Division 1 would also be relegated.
It has already been voted at the 2018 AGM that 10-team divisions will come into place in Division 4 and below for 2019.
