Helston 224 all out [20pts] beat Lanhydrock 123 all out [8pts] by 101 runs

Helston got their County Division 1 title bid back on track with a 101-run victory over Lanhydrock on Saturday.

The win was especially important with Beacon, Troon and Rosudgeon all winning as well.

Helston won the toss and chose to bat first, with opener Karl Leathley putting his side in an excellent position with 61 runs from 91 balls.

By the time he departed Graham (16) and Stephen Wiseman (14) had also gone to put the hosts on 121-3.

Ben Rule added 31 before being bowled by Jonathan Harris, who also claimed Tom Excell (23) and Bradley Bury (0) later on as he reached figures of 4-38.

Eben Koekemoer (16), Ross Leathley (19) and Steven Jenkin (17) also weighed in, with the latter's dismissal ending the home side's innings at 224 from 48.2 overs.

Lanhydrock struggled in their reply with openers Jason King (8) and Jake Carter (10) managing 18 runs between them.

James Starkie came in and scored 23 which turned out to be their highest contribution, with batsmen five to nine all falling for a combined ten runs thanks to ruthless bowling from Steven Jenkin and Bradley Bury, who took 3-18 and 3-24 respectively.

Fergus Baker tried to salvage something with his 21 not out, but the visitors' challenge came to an end when Chris Rogers (15) was bowled by Koekemoer.
