THERE was a top of the table clash at Oxland Park where free-scoring Trelawny League premier division leaders Penryn Athletic Reserves fought out a goalless draw with Illogan RBL Reserves.

However, an injury to the referee caused the game to be abandoned just before the scheduled finish.

Penwith Exiles took advantage of the stalemate by leapfrogging Athletic into pole position following their 7-0 drubbing of St Day Reserves whilst Helston Athletic III maintained their good form with a 5-1 trouncing of Stithians with a hat-trick from Mike Hallibone and goals from Jake Harrison and Charles Young.

Mawnan won a dramatic match with Holmans Reserves 4-2 after one point having three players in the sin bin at the same time. Greg Hobbs (2), Dominic Pullen and Pete Blight scored for Mawnan with Jack Mankee (penalty) and Nathan Williams replying for Holmans.

Division one league leaders Probus proved too good for Constantine and ran out 5-0 winners whilst St Keverne went down 2-1 to Threemilestone after scoring through Ben Smitheram.

RNAS Culdrose Reserves were beaten 6-0 away to Goonhavern Athletic, but Wendron United III handed out a 5-0 thumping to Newlyn Lions after scoring through Lee Pawley (2), Robin Watson, Warren Whittington and Ryan Bennetto.

Mawnan Reserves picked up their first win of the season with a 2-1 success at Hayle Reserves. Pete Sharp had both goals.

A hat-trick from Paul Jeffery paved the way for Falmouth DC’s 3-0 win over Mullion Reserves in division two, but Ruan Minor and Frogpool/Cusgarne both had their games called off because of no official referee.

Division three leaders Perranwell Reserves suffered their first defeat of the season when they were beaten 2-1 at Praze. Matt Rose scored their goal.

Frogpool/Cusgarne Reserves were another team to have their game called off due to no referee, but Wendron United IV played and were swept aside 6-1 by Rosudgeon Reserves who scored through Mick Blything (3) Daniel Hopkins, Chris Neale and Sam Smith.

Simon Dixon scored both goals for Constantine Reserves in their 2-2 draw with New Inn Titans Reserves in division four, but Lizard Argyle Reserves went one better with a 2-0 win away to Chacewater.

Jack Harding scored for Falmouth United against Goonhavern Athletic Reserves, but it wasn’t enough as the visitors ran out 3-1 winners.
