Wendron United 3, Holsworthy 1

Wendron United earned their first win of the season on Saturday as they beat Holsworthy 3-1 in their SWPL Division 1 West encounter at Underlane.

Jack Stocker, Chris Mulroy and Ben Ringrose scored the goals that secured Dron's first points of the campaign, while Harry Stevens claimed the visitors' consolation two minutes from time.

The hosts started well but it was Holsworthy who had the first chance, with Wendron 'keeper Dan Stedman doing well to tip a shot around the post.

Stocker put the home side in front after capitalising on an errant clearance by the visiting goalkeeper and fired in from 35 yards.

Stocker was involved in the second, setting up Mulroy to score a well-taken goal on 35 minutes.

Ben Ringrose made sure of Dron's first win of the season when he rifled a shot in after a good break down the left.

Stevens ended Wendron's hopes of a clean sheet in the 89th minute when he pounced on a stray pass and rounded Stedman.
