Helston Athletic 4, Falmouth Town 3

Helston Athletic came out on top in an action-packed Combination League Cup derby with Falmouth Town at Kellaway Park on Saturday.

In-form Joe Wright scored his 12th of the season to give Helston the lead on ten minutes, before Falmouth’s own in-form forward Gavin Perraton equalised soon after with his 11th of the campaign.

Jamie Thomson restored the hosts’ lead in the second half before Reece Allen replied for Town with 15 minutes to go.

Thomson scored again but Town levelled for a third time through Ben Kellow, but they couldn’t manage a fourth with Freddie Conway netting three minutes from time to send the Blues through.

Perranwell’s cup hopes are over for another year after losing 2-1 at home to Illogan RBL.

Aaron Myers put the visitors ahead before half-time, before Anton Oliver doubled the lead from the spot moments after the hosts were denied a penalty of their own.

James Davies clawed one back for Perranwell but it was too little too late.

St Just won 3-0 at St Agnes thanks to goals from Jack Willis (2) - who is now on 18 for the season after just nine matches - and Neil Curnow.

St Ives won 4-0 at home to Carharrack, with Max Davies (2), Danny Paynter and Josh Magin sending the hosts through to the next round.

In the league, Penryn Athletic lost 2-0 at league leaders Perranporth.

Kyle Brown converted Justin Searle’s cross on 25 minutes before Searle scored the second after a clearance struck team-mate Matt Laithwaite and fell kindly to the Perranporth man.

St Day moved up to second after beating Pendeen Rovers 2-1 at The Vogue. Dan Richards scored his tenth goal of the season to put the hosts ahead, before turning provider for Jake Williams to double the advantage.

Christian Whittaker pulled one back for Rovers but the hosts held on for their seventh win of the season.

Goalkeeper Danny Ford scored as Hayle won 5-2 at Mullion. Cameron Irish added two goals to reach 11 for the season, with Ford picking up his first - unsurprisingly - after his big goal kick found its way into Mullion's net.

Kane Williams and Sean Watts also scored for Hayle, while Jack Rutterford scored both of Mullion’s consolations.

Lizard Argyle fell to a 4-1 defeat at Redruth United. Simon James, Dan Horler (2) and Andy Bishop grabbed Redruth’s goal, with Ben Casley replying for Argyle.

RNAS Culdrose drew 2-2 with Wendron United. Dylan Doyle and Carl Stephens netted for the Airmen while Jack Noy and Ben Coleman scored for Dron.
