Hayle Runners were out and about at different ends of the country last weekend.

Closer to home a group from the club took part in a very wet Lanhydrock ten-mile multi terrain race around the National Trusts estate near Bodmin.

Heavy rain before and during the race made the conditions slippery but the team from Hayle Runners seemed to relish the conditions.

Will Luckhurst led the team home, followed by Rob Richards who won his 65-69 age group with a fantastic run from Debbie Michell leading the Hayle women home, closely followed by Diane Warren who won her 60-64 age group.

Further afield and in completely different weather conditions Ruth Phillips took the opportunity of a trip over the border to take a break from her marathon training and take part in the Scottish Half Marathon.

The race started from Tranent near Edinburgh taking runners along the coast to finish in the final furlong of the Musselburgh Race course.

Ruth enjoyed the flat course and was heading for a great time until a calf strain slowed her, finishing in two hours, 14 minutes and 25 seconds.
