Falmouth Town 5, Sticker 0

JORDAN Annear and Matt Buchan scored twice each as Falmouth Town swatted aside Sticker at Bickland Park on Saturday.

The pair scored one goal apiece in either half to give Town a four-goal lead on the hour, before Jack Bowyer rounded off the scoring against his former club.

The win also rounds off a nice week for Town, who won by the same score at Godolphin Atlantic on Wednesday night.

Town edged ahead after just five minutes when Annear pounced on a mix-up in the Sticker defence and walked the ball in.

The hosts dominated the first half without really testing Sticker ‘keeper Jamie Blatchford, until Buchan doubled the lead on 37 minutes when he coolly controlled a pass and fired into the bottom corner.

The visitors spurned a huge chance to claw one back on the stroke of half-time when Harry McMellon, deputising for Ryan Barnes, saved well from Andrew Avery’s free-kick before dropping the resulting corner, with Joe Cooper clearing off the line.

But Town made it three on 53 minutes with Annear latching onto a through ball, drawing the keeper and slotting home.

Buchan matched his strike partner and scored his second and his side’s fourth on the hour, racing onto a long ball and dinking it over the onrushing Sticker keeper.

Bowyer came off the bench to score the fifth on 70 minutes as Town countered through Annear, who crossed for Bowyer to slot past his former team-mate Blatchford.

Fellow sub Ryan Martt missed a big chance to make it six when he hit the crossbar from close range, before McMellon denied Ben Rosevear the opportunity to score a late consolation.
