THE outstanding games in the Bond Timber Cornwall Junior Cup were completed on Saturday with Mawnan winning their local derby with Constantine 9-0.

They scored through Dominic Pullen (4), Jago Taylor (3), Greg Hobbs and Peter Blight, but Perranwell Reserves were beaten 5-3 away to Newlyn Non-Athletico.

The major talking point in the Whirlwind Sports Trelawny Football League was the chronic shortage of referees that left a raft of games postponed and others saved by volunteer officials stepping in to save the day.

Most of the premier division games were completed with Penryn Athletic Reserves closing the gap on leaders Penwith Exiles following a 2-0 win at St Buryan.

Illogan RBL Reserves are right behind them, but they had to work hard to overcome a spirited Stithians 2-1 while Helston Athletic III maintained their good run with a narrow 2-1 win against Halsetown with a goal from Phil Miller and a 90th minute winner from Mike Hallibone.

St Keverne bounced back to form in division one with Joshua Broome’s brace helping his side to a 2-1 win at Lanner, but RNAS Culdrose Reserves went down to a 4-1 defeat at home to Newlyn Lions after scoring through Nathan Wilkinson.

Threemilestone moved to the top of the table after two 3-0 wins in two weeks against Mawnan Reserves whilst Rosudgeon were 4-3 winners at Wendron United IIIs after they had led 4-0. Craig Owens (2) and Harrison Badcock scored for Wendron.

Chris Maynard and Danny Reeve scored the goals in Falmouth Town III’s 2-0 win against St Ives Mariners in division two, but Mullion Reserves went down 2-1 at home to West Cornwall Reserves.

Frogpool/Cusgarne Reserves had a convincing 6-2 win away to Penzance Reserves in division three after notching goals through Will Harding (2), Jason Holt, Darren Meagor, Ashley Lawrence and Cameron Hamshaw.

Rosudgeon Reserves were 5-0 winners against St Buryan Reserves whilst Wendron United IV picked up a 4-2 win away to St Agnes III with goals from Zach Alexander and Matthew Trise.

Falmouth United are still looking for their first win in division four after going down 5-2 at home to Hayle III, but Lizard Argyle earned themselves a point from a 1-1 draw at New Inn Titans Reserves.

Constantine Reserves were beaten 4-1 away to Probus Reserves, but it was an even tougher day for Stithians Reserves who lost 13-0 against Threemilestone Reserves.
