Falmouth United FC held a special event at the Dracaena Centre on Sunday to mark their 25-year anniversary.

Formed in 1993 to provide football for a small group of local children, Falmouth United is now an FA Charter Standard Development club that provides football for around 200 children and 25 adults across 12 youth age groups and a senior team.

The day saw teams from all age groups compete for the Buckingham-Harris Cup with past club stalwarts, Lee Harris, Sue Stivey, Jason White, Andy Winnan and Peter Phillis presenting the medals.

The event culminated in a match between the original 1993 and current senior teams.

The founding team coached by their original manager Lee Harris clearly hadn’t lost any of their magic touch winning 4-0 and topping off a fantastic day for all involved.

Chairman Drew Symons praised the work of his predecessors and acknowledged the hard work of the 30-40 volunteer managers, coaches, committee members and also parents that contribute to the club’s success.
