Looe Town 1, Falmouth Town 12
Jack Bowyer scored four goals as Falmouth Town thrashed Looe Town in their Cornwall Senior Cup tie at the Barbican Sports Field on Saturday.
Matt Buchan grabbed a hat-trick and substitute David Broglino bagged two, with Jordan Annear, Tim Nixon and Martyn Duff scoring one each. Noah Phillips scored Looe’s consolation.
Town led after three minutes when when a clearance struck Buchan and bounced into the net.
Bowyer scored his first a couple of minutes later, slotting past Looe ‘keeper Aaron Ricks.
The third arrived just before half-time when Nixon cut in on the left and scored from a tight angle.
Bowyer made it four early in the second half before Phillips caught the Falmouth defence cold and fired past Ryan Barnes to get Looe on the board.
But Falmouth stepped up a gear and Duff made it 5-1 on 55 minutes after a fine pass from Luke Brabyn.
Buchan grabbed his second on 62 minutes after intercepting a backpass to make it 6-1, with Town then running riot to score another five goals in the next ten minutes.
First it was Annear, introduced from the bench, who shot in from Bowyer’s pass in the 64th minute, before Broglino made it eight from eight yards on 68 minutes.
Bowyer poked home to wrap up the hat-trick three minutes later with Broglino firing through a mass of bodies after another two minutes to make it ten.
Bowyer completed the 12-minute blitz on 75 minutes before setting up Buchan to seal his hat-trick and round off the scoring with seven minutes to go.
