Bridport 0, Falmouth Town 6

Falmouth Town scored six goals for the second game running as they dumped Bridport out of the FA Vase first round proper at St Mary’s Field on Saturday.

Town debutant Luke Johnson gave the visitors the lead, before Jordan Annear and James Ward put Town three up at the break.

Luke Brabyn, Tom Annear and Jack Bowyer added second-half goals as Town cruised into the second round, inflicting Bridport’s heaviest home defeat in nine years in the process.

It is now successive wins for Town against Western League Premier opposition after beating Bridport's divisional rivals Clevedon Town in the previous round last month.

Bridport initially started well with forward Mark Salter slicing wide from a left-wing cross before Leighton Thomas drew a good save from Ryan Barnes.

But that was as good as it got for the home side as Johnson, a new signing from Penzance, marked his debut with a goal after skipping past goalkeeper Jason Hutchings and firing home on 33 minutes.

Jordan Annear doubled the lead five minutes before the break when Hutchings parried his initial effort back to the Town striker, who made no mistake from the second attempt.

Ward added a third two minutes later when he headed David Broglino's corner home at the far post.

Town continued their dominance in the second half, with Brabyn scoring a rare header on the hour after getting on the end of Johnson's cross.

Tom Annear then added his second goal in three days a few minutes later after profiting from a penalty area scramble to slot in from close range.

Bowyer came off the bench to round off the scoring seven minutes from time after Johnson laid the ball on a plate for the striker to fire past Hutchings from just outside the box.
