Redruth CC cricketer Sam Wyatt went home with three awards at Saturday's Cornwall Schools’ Cricket Association Presentation Evening.

Sam claimed the Ted Collins Memorial Cup for the outstanding young cricketer, the Jonathan Harris Shield for the highest innings against a County team and the Under 17's individual award.

The youngster won the cup after performing well for the Under 17 Team, hitting three centuries including the second highest ever CSCA score of 188, and also played for the full Cornwall Minor Counties team, while he earned the Shield for his 188 against the Isle of Wight.

Somerset County Cricket Club Captain Tom Abell and batsman Eddie Byrom were the Chief Guests at the Association's 40th Presentation Evening, held at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay.

After handing out the awards the pair gave a question and answer session, conducted by the Somerset CCC Vice-Chairman Richard Brice. Mr Brice also congratulated the Association on organising such a superb evening, attended by around 250 people.
