Porthleven 2, Plymouth Marjon 2

Jared Sims' first goal of the season rescued a point for Porthleven in their SWPL Division 1 West clash with Plymouth Marjon at Gala Parc on Saturday.

A Liam Donovan strike either side of half-time gave Marjon a two-goal cushion, but goals from Matt Fox and Sims ensured that Port earned something from the game.

The dropped points means the hosts slip one place to third in the table after Liskeard thrashed St Blazey 7-2.

Marjon were first to trouble either goalkeeper in what was a quiet first half, with a square ball across the penalty area being sent over the bar on 37 minutes.

The visitors drew first blood moments before the break when they were awarded a penalty, with Donovan stepping up to send Port 'keeper Steve Parker-Billinge the wrong way from the spot.

Donovan struck again to double the lead ten minutes into the second half with a superb dipping volley into the bottom corner.

But Port were back in with a shout three minutes later when Sims teed up Fox to emulate Donovan by volleying past Marjon 'keeper Liam Hooks and into the bottom left corner.

The hosts were on terms on 67 minutes when Scott Kellow's long throw found Heydon Dark, whose lob into the box was turned in by Sims to rescue a point.

Port finished the stronger of the two sides but neither side were able to find the winner.
