Tavistock 3, Falmouth Town 3

TYLER Elliott's late strike denied Falmouth Town a superb three points at title rivals Tavistock in their South West Peninsula League Premier clash on Saturday.

Tavvy led 1-0 at the break thanks to Tallan Burns' effort, with Luke Brabyn levelling for Town on the hour before Bailey Williams restored the hosts' lead almost instantly.

Jack Bowyer brought Town level shortly after before Luke Johnson put the visitors in front with nine minutes to go, but Elliott struck to rescue a point for the Lambs in the final few minutes.

Town slip to fourth as a result with Tavistock dropping to third after Saltash United defeated Helston Athletic.

The match was played in a positive, attacking fashion right from the get-go, with Brabyn and David Broglino looking to test Tavistock 'keeper Josh Oak with early efforts.

Tavistock hit back with chances of their own from Burns and Liam Prynn with Town 'keeper Ryan Barnes doing well to deny both men.

But the hosts took the lead midway through the half when Town were caught napping in midfield, allowing the ball to reach Burns who shot in from 15 yards.

Town looked to hit back through Josh Richards - playing in midfield after spending the previous couple of games at right-back - shot narrowly wide with his edge-of-the-box effort.

The equaliser came on 63 minutes with Johnson cutting in from the right and picking out Brabyn who charged through the box to drive past Oak.

But parity lasted all of four minutes before Tavvy restored their lead when a corner was partially cleared before a ball back into the box gave Williams the chance to fire past Barnes from close range.

But the visitors rallied and drew level again with Brabyn turning provider to tee up Bowyer, who beat two defenders before smashing the ball in from six yards.

Town turned the game on its head in the 81st minute when Johnson volleyed in from Matt Buchan's cross to score what looked like being the decisive goal.

But the Lambs had other ideas and pushed forward in numbers, with Elliott firing home through a penalty-box scramble to rescue a point.
