Ludgvan 1, Wendron United 8

RORY Jarvis scored a hat-trick as Wendron United thrashed struggling Ludgvan in their South West Peninsula League Division 1 West match at Jubilee Hall on Saturday.

The frontman scored twice in the first half, with Jamie Webb, TJ Walter and an own goal giving the visitors a 5-0 lead at the break.

The hosts pulled one back early in the second half before Jarvis completed his hat-trick, with Hayden Fuller and Jack Stocker completing the rout.

Webb broke the deadlock when he prodded home a cross at the back post before Jarvis made it two after some quick one-touch football allowed the striker to guide a shot neatly past the Ludgvan 'keeper.

Walter added the third when he volleyed into the corner from Stocker's cross, before having a hand in the fourth when his cross was headed in the goal by a Ludgvan defender.

Jarvis made sure of a commanding five-goal interval lead following good play down the right flank by Fuller and Finn Robinson, with the former crossing to the back post where Jarvis was on hand to head home.

The hosts got themselves on the board when a good cross was headed in at the near post, but Jarvis restored the five-goal margin when substitute Yeshe Briar squared to the striker to tap into an empty net and complete his hat-trick.

Dron had number seven when Chris Mulroy - also fresh from the bench - found Fuller with a cross for the defender to head into the top corner, before Stocker wrapped up proceedings with a calm finish.

The seven-goal victory puts Wendron's goal difference back into positive figures, although it could have been even greater with Dron hitting the woodwork on four occasions
