THE Trelawny League’s table-topping clash between Penwith Exiles and Penryn Athletic Reserves should have been a cracking encounter, but unfortunately Athletic were unable to raise a side.

The points were awarded to Exiles and that enabled them to extend their lead to 11 points.

Helston Athletic III crashed out 5-1 at Illogan RBL Reserves in the Percy Stephens Cup, but Mawnan cruised into the fourth round after a comfortable 3-0 win over Halsetown. Dominic Pullen, Pete Sharp and an own goal were the scorers.

In division one Wendron United III hammered Newlyn Lions 7-0 with the goals coming from Harrison Badcock (3), Antony Williams (2), Craig Owens and Lee Pawley.

Rosudgeon defeated St Keverne 2-0 and Mawnan Reserves drew 1-1 at Goonhavern after Ben Harvey scored an equaliser.

Ruan Minor had a narrow 2-1 win over Redruth United Reserves in division two and Falmouth DC, who scored through Zach Maunder, went down 2-1 to Ludgvan Reserves.

Falmouth Town III lost 3-1 at Four Lanes.

After scoring through Alex Bray and Louie Jaspal, Perranwell Reserves dropped points in division three in a 2-2 draw at home to Holmans Reserves and that allowed Frogpool/Cusgarne Reserves to leapfrog them after a 5-1 win over Wendron United IV. Nick Lasseter (2), Kevin Smith, Will Harding and Mike Rollason scored for ’Pool and Jack Wray for United.

In division four Falmouth United were beaten 6-1 by Tregony and Constantine Reserves lost a thrilling game 6-5 at Marazion.
