Dobwalls 1, Wendron United 1

AN INJURY-TIME goal denied Wendron United the chance to end their mini rut with all three points at Dobwalls in their South West Peninsula League Division 1 West match at Lantoom Park on Saturday.

Joe Souch had given the visitors the lead in the second half, and the Dron were minutes away from a big three points until the hosts grabbed an injury-time equaliser.

Wendron top-scorer Rory Jarvis was looking lively early on, heading over from Finn Robinson's cross before striking the post after good play from TJ Walter in an otherwise quiet first half.

The visitors stepped it up after the break, and despite Dobwalls striking Dan Stedman's crossbar from distance, Wendron were fairly in control.

They thought they had taken the lead when Walter's shot looked like it may have crossed the line after bouncing down off the underside of the crossbar, but the linesman was unmoved.

But they finally went ahead 15 minutes from time when Souch fed the ball to Mike O'Neil, whop held the ball up well before playing it back to Souch in the box, who fired into the bottom corner.

Just when it looked like Wendron were going to be leaving east Cornwall victorious, they were hit with a sucker punch in injury-time. After pouncing on a weak clearance, the hosts came forward and rounded the onrushing Stedman to rescue a point.

Wendron: D Stedman, J Souch, H Fuller, J Webb, S Humphries, B Ringrose, F Robinson, L Potts, J Stocker, R Jarvis, T Walter. Subs: M O'Neill, C Mulroy, C Wheat, R Carroll.
