Falmouth 9, Bournemouth 0

Not even the torrential rain and 40mph winds could stop Falmouth on Saturday as they eased to victory over Bournemouth in their Premier Division 2B game.

Falmouth’s first goal came from a run down the left by Vic Pryor who, with support from teammate Clare Hudson, beat the defence and finished with a solid push into the backboard.

Short corner success came when an excellent strike from Nat Oliver was deflected in by Pryor.

Amy Bucknole secured a 3-0 half-time lead by hammering home a top D strike.

The second half began with a trademark run from the speedy Rachael Tatlow, who beat several defenders before scoring at the second attempt.

Pryor’s next goal came when the keeper was left one on one with her silky stick skills.

That was quickly followed by a powerful strike from Hudson which was going wide until Pryor got a textbook reverse stick deflection.

Viv Cobner was next to find the backboard after finding herself with enough space to unleash her strong strike.

Nat Oliver was in a similar position moments later and smashed the ball through the crowd of defenders to make it eight.

The final goal came from a skilful run by Faye Ivall who slipped the ball to Pryor who bagged her fifth goal of the day.

The club wishes to thank Heather and Lay Estate Agents for their continued support.

Bodmin 2, Falmouth II 1

Falmouth seconds put in a good team performance to push Bodmin hard in this closely contested game.

Bodmin’s first goal came from a good free hit on the right which found the centre forward at the top of the D, ready to place a powerful strike into the corner.

Falmouth equalised in the second half from a penalty corner. Becky Row’s direct shot was saved before eventually falling to Louise Cross who skilfully put it past the ‘keeper.

But Bodmin scored the winner from a penalty corner rebound after the initial shot was saved. In an even game by possession, Bodmin had more shots on goal but they were made to work hard for their win.
