Falmouth Town 4, Launceston 0

Two goals from Luke Brabyn helped Falmouth Town reach the semi-finals of the Cornwall Senior Cup after a 4-0 victory over Launceston, writes Harry Tribe.

Brabyn opened the scoring with a great run and finish from outside the box before James Ward doubled the lead when he rose and headed home a Tim Nixon corner.

Town added their third when Brabyn finished well to add to his first half effort, Nixon added the fourth shortly after with a neat finish past Launceston’s Josh Colwill.

Falmouth continued to dominate most of the possession and were deserved winners on the day.

The home side started the stronger of the two sides and it took 11 minutes for Luke Brabyn to find the opener, a fantastic run was completed with a finish to match as he smashed the ball into the top corner of the net.

Falmouth continued to press through the first half and a second goal looked like it would come with Jordan Annear and Nixon both having shots at goal.

They added their second goal a minute before half time, Nixon whipped in a dangerous corner and it was Ward who climbed highest to head the ball past Colwill.

Town started the second half much like they started the first and it was Brabyn at hand to finish his sides third and put the game to bed.

Falmouth scored their fourth goal after a great ball from Martyn Duff set Nixon away who kept his composure and finished under Colwill at his near post.

Falmouth Town will be in the draw for the next round of the cup alongside Wendron United, St Austell and either Saltash United or Bodmin Town.
