Cornish cricket stalwart Rev Canon Ken Rogers has died at the age of 85.

Father Ken was a life member of Cornwall County Cricket Club and a vice-president of the Cornwall Football Association and the Cornwall Rugby Football Union.

He became the honorary secretary of Cornwall County Cricket Club in 1992 and remained in office until 2000.

In 2007 he succeeded Julian Williams CBE, who passed away in January 2019, as the County Club President and served until 2012.

He was a founder member of the Cornwall Cricket Board, representing the County Club between 1996 and 2000.

He was vice-chairman of Truro Cricket Club between 1979-82, Chairman from 1983-87 and the Club’s president since 1993.

His funeral will be held at Truro Cathedral towards the end of February.
