The Kernow Football Alliance have announced their first-ever squad ahead of their historic match on Monday night.

The Kernow FA will play their first match since their formation against a Foxhole Stars XI at St Austell's Poltair Park on Monday night (kick-off 7.30pm).

The squad, which was announced on the Cornish Soccer Podcast on Friday morning, features 21 players from four clubs within the South West Peninsula League.

AFC St Austell players make up almost half of the squad, with ten Lillywhites players in contention to don a Kernow FA jersey on Monday. Bodmin Town are represented by six players, while four players from Liskeard Athletic and one from Helston Athletic make up the remainder of the squad.

The Kernow FA side will be managed by Bodmin boss Darren Gilbert and ex-St Austell manager Phil Lafferty, while the Foxhole Stars team will be managed by Lee Whetter and Shaun German.

Monday's game will be the Kernow FA's first match since they were officially ratified by CONIFA in November, which is the international governing body for non-FIFA affiliated football associations.

The Kernow FA's inclusion in CONIFA will provide a platform for Cornwall to join more than 50 other members across the globe, each with their own distinctive story - from nations, de-facto nations and regions to minority peoples and sports isolated territories.

The organisation's watershed moment came last June when thousands of spectators flocked to London to watch the 2018 World Football Cup, won by Karpatalja (representing the Hungarian minority in Carpathian Ruthenia).
