There was some positive news at Praze-an-Beeble on Monday evening where the cricket club held a special meeting, which might have seen the formal dissolution of the club.

However, the good news is that around 20 people attended including Cornwall Cricket Board and League Reps, Parish and Playing Fields Reps, villagers and players including a number of youngsters.

The current Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are all standing down.

Their last committee meeting had only four present, not enough for a quorum and the club’s future looked bleak.

However, the publicised plight has had an effect with financial support pledged and offers to join the committee.

The Chairman/Captain Nick Rowe has gained some players and funding .

Some new potential officers have been identified and it was resolved to hold an AGM on Wednesday, March 27, at Praze Institute at 7pm.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

It is hoped in due course to introduce a youth section to the club.

The club intends to fulfil its Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League Division 6 West commitments, beginning at Camborne Thirds on Saturday, May 4.
