Yeovil & Sherborne 2, Falmouth 2

Falmouth became the first team to take points off runaway leaders Yeovil & Sherborne on Saturday.

Falmouth scored in the first couple of minutes which took Yeovil by surprise, before securing a second when Clare Hudson’s pass was turned in by Vic Pryor.

Falmouth managed to hold onto their lead for most of the second half. Yeovil were awarded over ten short corners but could not get through the Falmouth defence. In the last 15 minutes of the game Yeovil managed to score twice to equalise. With just a few minutes left Vic Pryor pushed the ball over the line but unfortunately the whistle had already gone. The club wishes to thank Heather and Lay for their support.

Newquay II 2, Falmouth II 4

But Newquay soon pulled one back via their centre forward before levelling when a strong shot was mishit on the edge of the D, sending Cadwell the wrong way.

Kelly Jefferies restored the visitors’ lead with a great shot into the bottom right corner, before completing the scoring after the break when she swept in from Blake’s cross.
