Organised by the Cornish Pirates, a first ‘Help Sam’ Golf Day has proved very worthy in helping raise funds for the club’s Community Outreach Programme.
Held at West Cornwall Golf Club recently, the competing teams played to a high standard. The winners were a representative team from St. Austell Brewery followed closely by one headed up by Mark George.
The day also included an excellent evening meal, at which there were inevitable sporting discussions reference the present Cricket World Cup and the forthcoming Rugby World Cup competitions.
Sam Teasdale, Community Engagement Manager for the Cornish Pirates, delivered an interesting talk about the club’s Outreach Programme and how it is involved within the community. An example of benefit will be that the proceeds from the charity Golf Day will go to help Special Needs work.
