Former Truro City player Ben Harding has joined Mousehole.

The 34-year-old, whose list of former clubs includes Wimbledon, Aldershot, Torquay and Wycombe, will be Head of Coaching at Trungle Parc, as well as player/assistant to new boss and fellow ex-Truro man Jake Ash, who took over in June.

Louis Rooney scored the only goal of the game as Truro City beat Plymouth Argyle in their pre-season friendly at Treyew Road on Tuesday night.

Rooney pounced on a defensive error early in the second half to score against his former club and hand manager Paul Wotton the first victory of his reign.

Former Argyle youngster Rio Garside, who played for Truro in the friendly, has now signed for the White Tigers on a permanent basis.

Saltash will host Clevedon Town while St Austell visit Willand Rovers. The Ashes will host Bristol Manor Farm in the preliminary round if they beat Clevedon, while St Austell would visit Street or Odd Down.

Vinter Cup champions Penzance take on Grampound Road in the WT Edwards Cup Final at Truro CC on Wednesday night. The winner will represent Cornwall in the Vitality Club T20 Area Finals on Sunday, July 28.

Penzance have also extended their lead at the top of the Cornwall Premier League after a 100-run win at St Austell on Saturday.
