PORTHLEVEN let a two-goal lead slip as they were held at home to Dobwalls in their first-ever game in the South West Peninsula League Premier.

Matt Fox gave Port a half-time lead before George Molcher doubled the advantage on the hour, but two goals in two minutes from Lang and Mike Smith rescued a point for the visitors.

The first few minutes were a fairly quiet affair as both sides looked to work each other out. Dan Richardson drove a shot wide for the Fishermen while Mike Smith did the same at the other end.

Porthleven began to settle midway through the half, with Dan Stidwell firing over from the edge of the box before Dan Richardson flashed a shot wide from all of 35 yards.

But the hosts had a big let-off ten minutes before the break when goalkeeper Martyn Webster's casual pass went straight to a Dobwalls man, but the lob attempt dropped wide of the post.

Port opened the scoring shortly before half-time when Dan Stidwell's chipped cross was headed in at the near post by Fox.

The home side doubled their lead just before the hour thanks to an excellent individual goal from Molcher. The forward found space on the edge of the box, cut onto his left foot and curled the ball into the corner.

The Fishermen had a huge chance to kill the game off midway through the half when Molcher sprinted clear, but could not roll his shot under the 'keeper.

That proved to be a big moment as the visitors stunned their hosts with two goals in two minutes.

The first came on 78 minutes as a corner kick reached Lang at the far post, whose shot was cleared off the line by Ed Timmons but deemed to have gone over by the referee.

The visitors were then back on terms barely two minutes later, with Smith finding space eight yards out and driving home.

Dobwalls had a huge chance to steal all three points four minutes from time, but Smith's shot from six yards was blocked and cleared.
