Mullion got off to a flying start in the inaugural St Piran League West campaign after winning 5-1 at Illogan RBL.

Rob Carey scored a hat-trick for Mullion after Keith Jacka and Jack Casley had put the hosts two up. Steve Abbott-Smith replied for Illogan.

Penryn Athletic kicked-off their new season with a 1-0 win at home to Mousehole reserves.

Jack Rapsey, who has been in red-hot form in pre-season, scored what will probably be his luckiest goal of the season ten minutes before half-time, when Nick Boase's strike cannoned off the strike and flew into the net.

Micky Flores made some excellent saves throughout, including one to deny Ryan Reeve from the penalty spot.

Falmouth Town reserves shared the spoils with St Ives Town in their first game of the season at the Saltings.

Sam Bromley scored for Town, while Ross Duncan netted for the home side.

Helston Athletic reserves got off to a disappointing start, losing 2-1 at St Agnes. Jowan Shainberg scored for the Blues.

Hayle opened their account with a 3-1 win at home to St Day. Nathan Hampton, Cameron Irish and Liam Mooney netted for the hosts. Luke Hart scored St Day's consolation.

Redruth United earned a 2-0 win at home to Ludgvan. Louis Matthews opened the scoring with a fine free-kick shortly before half-time, before Charlie Hawthorne wrapped up the win midway through the second half.
